Iraqi Oil

Just thought I'd post this MEMRI news item in response to the leftist propaganda about the U.S. invading Iraq for their oil.

IRAQI OIL EXPORTS SINCE THE END OF THE WAR IN APRIL 2003 HAVE REACHED $8.7 BILLION. THE REVENUES WERE DEPOSITED INTO THE ACCOUNT OF THE IRAQI DEVELOPMENT FUND. (AL-ZAMAN, IRAQ, 4/22/04)

The Iraqi oil revenues are not being deposited directly into the accounts of Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and Wolfowitz, they are being deposited into the Iraqi Development Fund.

Meanwhile, the same people who continue to paint the leaders of our government as evil villains completely ignore the real oil scandal in the United Nations. I have to credit Roger L. Simon for continuing to push this story for the past few months. I'm not saying that's the reason it's FINALLY being picked up by major media outlets, I'm just giving props to one of the great writers in the blogosphere for focusing on the things that really matter.
